Proverbs.

What are proverbs?
Proverbs are wise sayings.
They are often easy to remember and very popular,
so the children like to repeat them.
Begin with short and simple proverbs.

Stick some simple proverbs on a wall in the classroom.

All's well that ends well.
A change is as good as a rest.
A picture says a thousand words.
An Englishman's home is his castle.

Being busy as a bee.
Being all ears.
Burn the candle at both ends.

Blowing your own trumpet.
Blood is thicker than water.
Don't put the cart before the horse.
Diamonds are a girl's best friend.
Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
 Don't shoot the messenger.

Early bird catches the worm.
Four seasons in one day.
Fools rarely differ.
Honesty is the best policy.

Home sweet home.

Having butterflies in the stomach.

Have your cake and eat it.

It takes two to tango.

It's raining cats and dogs.
It's only a storm in a teacup.
Jump out of the skin.

Love is blind.
Practice makes perfect.
Red sky at night, sheperd's delight.
Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning.

Slow but sure wins the race.
Silence is golden.
So close yet so far.
Time is money.
Two is company, three is a crowd.
To put the cart before the horses.

To drink like a fish.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.
There's no smoke without a fire.

There's no place like home.

What goes up, must come down.
